I got this for my son when he turned 2years old. He is 4 and still plays with it. Very durable, one problem, it has a light switch and if it is left ON the battery runs out. I opened the unit up and disconnect the wire that goes to the switch so it cannot be turn and left on any more. The battery is lasting a long time now.

My two year old got this for his birthday and was overjoyed. Its a okay truck overall,and looks pretty good, but it definately has some major flaws! One: little fingers have a reallyhard time using the push and pull lever to move the can up and down... it should have been designed with a simple push button for this feature. Also, there are some buttons on it for sound... so why it utilizes a lever for the up/down motion is ridiculous, especially as there are two levers: one of which only mimics the same sounds the the push buttons make. Two, the track got stuck after a short time and the can will not longer rise without a manual push. Three, the can is removable and very easily lost. Our son came to use every five minutes to reattach the can. Four, the mechanism by which the can is attached broke off ultimatley rendering it useless. Five, the man does NOT fit inside the truck unless you squish him in sideways... impossible for little fingers, and he looks ridiculous laying sideways with his legs hanging out the window. Not recomended, find something else. Tonka has not been the quality it used to be... guess that's more "made overseas in china" JUNK!!!! For the $10 extra buy a made in America or Europe quality toy that you son will love and will last.
